by admin on May 9, 2013

We’re 10 days away from PUC events taking place all over the USA, with some events happening as early as this weekend.

Are you ready for pushups?

First off, remember that PUC is all about getting fit, having fun, and making a difference.

So whatever you can contribute, we’re glad to have you with us!

However, we do like to have a little fun by pushing each other (in a friendly way) to perform our best and meet the challenge of performing as many pushups as possible in 90 seconds.

We’re giving away some SWEET prizes, but you’ve got to follow the rules to qualify and win!

GRAND PRIZE: MOST MONEY RAISED BY A PARTICIPANT

2 tickets to the Sons of Anarchy Boot Ride and Rally in LA, with airfare and hotel covered by NPE. PLUS a co-branded cooler filled with PUC gear AND Boot Campaign swag including a pair of “Give Back Boots.”

We’re now 18 days away from Pushups For Charity events taking place all around the country.

If you’re not “pumped up” to push it yet, then it’s time to get excited and get ready!

This week we’re got a great video to share with you from a recent interview done with Capt. Chad Flemming.

As we shared last week, Capt Flemming was featured in our campaign last year and we’re honored to have him with us again for 2013!

Chad was injured on Oct 3, 2005 while serving in Afghanistan.

He calls it his “alive” day.

After 23 surgeries, Chad had his leg amputated.

And went back to active duty in the service.

While Chad might be missing a leg, he knows there are others out there who are missing a whole lot more.

He practices a RELENTLESS attitude and his story is inspiring to say the least.

To your success,
Sean Greeley

Director, Pushups For Charity

P.S. All funds raised through Pushups For Charity go directly to the Boot Campaign. The Boot Campaign takes care of veterans and their families through things like purchasing mortgage free homes, providing spouse and survivor counseling, and providing jobs.

As Capt Flemming says, “what you see is what you get” with the Boot Campaign.

P.P.S. How many pushups are you going for this year?

What Do You Push For?

by admin on April 23, 2013

If there’s one thing we stand for at Pushups For Charity… it’s pushing.

Pushing beyond your limits.

No matter what life throws at you…

Or how many times you get knocked down…

we PUSH to get back up again, break our limits, serve others, and make a difference.

If you’re new to PUC this year then you’ll appreciate hearing about Captain Chad Fleming, one of our heroes.

Head on over to watch Chad’s story and let us know what you push for along with the “reason why” you’re participating in Pushups for Charity this year by posting a comment to the blog!

To your success,
Sean Greeley

Director, Pushups For Charity

P.S. May 18th is now less then 4 weeks away and Pushups For Charity events will be taking place all across the country.

Have you been training for your pushups?

Are you on track to hit your personal fundraising goal this year?

Be sure to tell others what you’re most excited about, why you’re participating in PUC this year, and most importantly…

WHAT YOU PUSH FOR when talking with your friends, family, and co-workers about PUC!

Push Ups Got You Down?

by admin on April 16, 2013

Many people get a little timid when it comes to doing pushups…especially in front of other people.

But, like Joey Jones said before, “It’s not how many pushups you can do, or how well you can do them, it’s the fact you ARE there.”

The Pushups For Charity® event is going to be fun no matter what, and to make sure you have the most fun possible we want you to be as ready as possible.

There are two good ways to insure you’re preparedness:

First, contact your local host who is more than willing to give you some pointers on how to do the most pushups you possibly can.

Second, check out this bodyweight-exercise video for ideas on how to jump-start you’re preparation regimen.

Can bodyweight exercise really get me ready?

If there is a white-hot trend in fitness right now it’s bodyweight strength training. Athletes of all kinds are looking to the toughest, most brutally-productive calisthenics techniques to spice up their workouts. We’re talking one-arm pushups, pistols, pull-ups, handstands and hanging levers. Imagine how much easier a regular pushup will be when you’re able to rock one-arm pushups?

This video comes from Progressive Calisthenics Certification Workshop which is based on the teachings of Convict Conditioning founder, Paul Wade, and his remarkable Convict Conditioning 2, featuring bodyweight maestro Al Kavadlo and his brother Danny. Check out their techniques and start applying.

With this video you will be ready for the Push Ups For Charity event.

Don’t forget one of the most rewarding and meaningful things we do in life is give…and in this case, the more pushups you do the more money you give back to American heroes.

Give someone 90 seconds.

You’ll be glad you did!
