Push Ups For Charity Event In Dover Raises $3000 for The Wounded Warrior Project
“Push-Ups Challenge Aids Wounded Warriors”
From the Delaware State News
“Get Fit. Have Fun. Make a difference.”
Chris Gray, president of Punch Kettlebell Gym Dover, hopes area residents will do just that on Saturday, as he and 100 of his colleagues from across the country host the Push Ups for Charity Challenge, a fundraiser benefiting the Wounded Warriors Project.
The event will begin at 10am at the Punch Kettlebell Gym at 1058 South Governors Ave, Suite 101, in Dover.
“To borrow a phrase from the Geico commercials, pushups are ‘so easy a caveman can do it,’” Gray says.
There are various ways area residents can get involved with the fundraiser, including doing pushups themselves, sponsor someone doing pushups by agreeing to donate 50 cents, 75 cents or $1 for pushups done in 90 seconds, or make a flat donation to the project itself.
“The average person might do…25 to 30 pushups…so the average donation certainly won’t break the bank, but every dollar really helps and goes directly to the Wounded Warrior Project”
The Wounded Warrior Project’s mission is “to honor and empower wounded warriors,” its purpose is also to raise awareness and enlist the public’s aid for the needs of severely injured service men and women.
